Iris Festival Parade May 22
Sponsored by
Everyone one loves a parade; however, the Keizer community for over 50 years have shown what this kind of love really is. Traditions begin again and again with families lining up along the main downtown corridor River Road. Anticipation and excitement builds. From Lockhaven at the north end to Glynbrook at the south there are kids making chalk drawings, adults visiting, youth texting, and the young at heart settling in. Every minute is worth the wait until the sirens sound off from the fire engines that announce that the parade is about to start. The Iris Festival Parade begins with a presentation of our flags carried proudly by the Color Guard. Elected and special Dignitaries wave and hand out candy. The bands play, the cars shine, and the many floats carrying smiling faces captivate the crowds. The one and one half to two hour long parade begins at 10:30 am. Join the fun in all kinds of weather. Sunshine, clouds, or even in the rain the Iris Festival Parade is a hometown tradition you may not want to miss.
