ENJOY IRISES IN BLOOM THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF MAY

SCHREINER'S DISPLAY GARDENS - THROUGHOUT MAY - Make a tour of Schreiner's one of your springtime traditions! Soak up warm spring sunshine as you stroll through 10 acres of gardens. Bring the family for a picnic lunch (table available). Marvel at over 500 colorful iris varieties and take home fresh cut blooms or order rhizomes for your friends and yourself. Enjoy the cut flower show and Memorial Day Weekend entertainment. During bloom season, the display gardens are open free of charge from dawn to dusk, and the gift shop is open 9:00 am - 6:00 pm daily.

COOLEY'S PEAK BLOOM - THROUGHOUT MAY - Cooley's Festival includes a cut flower show featuring 200 artistic tall bearded iris arrangements; weekend entertainment including music and a display of specialized equipment we use to harvest, process and ship millions of iris rhizomes. Featured attractions of the Festival are the display gardens and fields (nearly 100 acres) The Cooley Family will be on hand to welcome you and answer your questions. Tours and groups are always welcome. They are easy to find Cooley's Gardens is at 11553 Silverton Road NE, just outside of Silverton and nine miles east of Keizer.

IRIS & THE ARTIST SHOW - THROUGHOUT MAY - Irises are so unique with full blooms and captivating colors that artists find marvelous ways to capture them on canvas. Throughout the month of May, come view samples of these masterpieces at the Iris Art Show held in the Enid Joy Mount Gallery at the Keizer Heritage Center 980 Chemawa Rd NE.

As an artist you can submit artwork to enter the 2011 Iris Festival Fine Art Poster Contest. The selected theme and theme iris is Made of Magic. Your ideas and creativity while engaging the theme, the community, and the festival are encouraged to be incorporated in the artwork. A $200 cash prize will be awarded for the selected piece.

ARTS, BLOOMS & WINE TASTING presented by River Road Assisted Living- May 21-23 -Artists, Nurseries, and Vintners from throughout the Willamette Valley will be offering their creations amidst the festive setting of the Keizer Station Park. Bring the kids so they can make a tile hand print for the Hands on Government project. Come watch creativity in action in various demonstrations while taking in the aroma of garden blooms at the Flower & Plant Show. Beautiful neighborhood blooms, arrangements, and or course irises are on display. Keizer area garden enthusiast may enter their spring botany from the rich soils of the valley. Arrangements accepted on Friday or Saturday May 21 or 22 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
